Common Questions
Do children have to pay?
Anyone who wants to get a tee-shirt, be timed and registered in race needs to pay.  We will also be giving raffle prizes based upon bid numbers.  However, if you have children that don't care about any of the above mentioned things, or that will be held/pushed in strollers, they do not have to pay.

Do you have to pay for strollers?
There is no cost for strollers or children in strollers.  However, if you do not pay and register children, they will not be counted as a participant, be timed, receive a tee-shirt or be eligible for raffle prizes.

Is there a kids race?
No, there is not a separate race or race course for kids.  The purpose of the event is to get families to do it together.

Can people/kids use scooters?
For safety reasons, all bikes, scooters, skateboards, skates, etc. will not be allowed on race course.  Only strollers and jogging strollers will be allowed on course with runners and walkers.

Where exactly is the race course?
The race will start on North Parkway Drive (on the corner of Blue Ravine Rd and North Parkway Drive) in Folsom.  You will run approximately 3/4 mile on street and then enter Folsom's beautiful bike trails throughout the Parkway community.  The finish will be in the empty field on the corner of Blue Ravine Rd. and North Parkway Drive.

Are there any refunds?
Sorry, there are no refunds for the race.

Do you have to pickup race packets prior to race?
We highly encourage you to pick up your packets on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 12-8pm.  At that time participants will be given their shirt and chip for timing.  Everyone will need the chip before they start the race.  If you can absolutely not make it, you will be able to pick it up on the morning of the race.  However, we can not handle a lot people the morning of, so please make arrangements to pick them up the day before.  Thank you.

Are Dogs Allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed.  However, your dog must be on a short leash (no retractable leashes)  He must be good around other dogs and people.  You must have bags to pick up after your dog, if he happens to go to the bathroom.  All participants with dogs will be towards the back of the start line to allow all runners to start first.

Will Times be posted?
Yes, times will be posted on the internet, as well as at the race site.

Can you walk the 10K?
You can walk the 10K, but there is a 2-hour time limit.

Are there different Heats?
At this time there will be only 2 heats (one for the 5K and one for 10K).  If there is a large participation, this might change.  The benefits of chip timing is that your time does not start until you personally cross the start line and doesn't stop until you cross the finish line. We will encourage all walkers and people with strollers to stay towards the back of start line and runners toward the front.  10K will start at 8:50am and the 5K will start at 9:10am
