“Never In Our Town” Youth Assistance Fund |
|
In 1988 the Folsom Athletic Association (FAA) created the Youth Assistance Fund. The purpose of the fund is to ensure that no child in Folsom is unable to participate in recreational programs due to financial hardship. The funds slogan “Never in Our Town,” is the guiding philosophy of the fund. The principal of the trust fund will never be touched, only the interest will be used to provide scholarships for needy children.
Scholarships may be full or partial depending upon the financial situation of the applicant.
Goals:
¨ The FAA is dedicated to increasing the amount of the trust fund in order to generate increased interest which will be used to meet the needs of Folsom’s growing population.
¨ The FAA is working to improve the identification process to ensure that every child who needs a financial scholarship is aware that the funds are available to them.
¨ In addition, the FAA would like to increase awareness that recreational opportunities for children include far more than just sports.
